শ্রম অভিবাসনের ক্ষেত্রে সৌদি আরব এখন পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশি শ্রমিকদের প্রথম পছন্দ ছিল। কিন্তু পরিসংখান অনুযায়ী বিগত কয়েক বছর ধরে এই চিত্রটির বদল হয়েছে। সৌদির অপেক্ষায় বেশি সংখ্যায় বাংলাদেশী শ্রমিক মালয়েশিয়ায় গিয়েছিল। জনশক্তি, কর্মসংস্থান ও প্রশিক্ষণ ব্যুরোর (বিএমইটি) থেকে প্রাপ্ত একটি তথ্য অনুযায়ী বিগত সাড়ে তিন বছরের বিরতির পর ২০২২ এর প্রথম দিকে মালয়েশিয়া বাংলাদেশী শ্রমিকদের পনুরায় নিয়োগ শুরু করে। এর পর থেকে ২০২৩ এর মে মাস পর্যন্ত মালয়েশিয়া ৩৫,১৯০ জন বাংলাদেশী কর্মীকে নিয়োগ করেছে। 

যত দিন যাচ্ছে আরবের দেশগুলিতে কাজের তুলনায় বেতনের হার কমে যাচ্ছে। সৌদি আরবে একজন বাংলাদেশি শ্রমিক সর্বনিম্ন বেতন পান ৮০০-১000 সৌদি রিয়াল যা প্রায় ২৩,000-২৮,000 টাকা। অন্যদিকে মালয়েশিয়ায় সর্বনিম্ন বেতন হলো ১৫00 মালয়েশিয়ান রিঙ্গিত যা প্রায় ৩৫০০০ টাকা। 

বিদেশ চাকরি খোঁজার আগে একজন প্রার্থীকে যাচাই করে দেখতে হবে কোন দেশে বেশি টাকা উপার্জন করা সম্ভব। এক্ষেত্রে আরব দেশগুলি থেকে মালোয়েশিযাতে চাকরির বাজার অপেক্ষাকৃত ভালো। এই বিষয়টি বিবেচনা করে এগোলে কর্মী অবশ্যই লাভবান হতে পারবেন।

আরেকটি বিষয় হল আরবে যেতে হলে সরকারি ভাবে একজন কর্ম প্রার্থীর ১,৬৫,০০০ টাকা ও মালয়েশিয়া ক্ষেত্রে কর্মপ্রার্থী পিছু ৭৯,০০০ টাকা খরচ হওয়ার কথা। কিন্তু বাস্তব ক্ষেত্রে এই অঙ্কটা অনেক গুণ বেড়ে যায়। সৌদি আরবে যেতে গেলে প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ আর মালয়েশিয়ার ক্ষেত্রে ৩-৪ লক্ষ টাকা জব প্লেসমেন্ট এজেন্সি কে দিতে হয়। এরপর বিদেশ গিয়ে যদি বেশ ভালো বেতন না পাওয়া যায় তা হলে চাকরির মেয়াদ শেষে দেশে আশানুরূপ অংকের টাকা নিয়ে আসা যায় না। এক্ষেত্রে চাকুরী প্রার্থীকে যথেষ্ট সচেতন হয়ে ভালো প্লেসমেন্ট কোম্পানীর সাথে যোগাযোগ করতে হবে। কোনো নির্ভরযোগ্য প্রতিষ্টানের মাধ্যমে বিদেশে চাকরিতে যোগদান করতে পারলে অযথা হয়রানি ও অত্যাধিক টাকা ও ব্যয়ের ও প্রয়োজন হবে না।
